Health Risk Analysis

Knowledge of an area’s healthcare infrastructure and its capabilities (or lack thereof) is key in understanding the health risks associated with any given project. Decisions should be based on verified, pertinent and current information. Procedures are formulated based on medical requirements, and on-site and in-country medical resources and constraints.

Medical Resource Assessments.

We complete these risk assessments to ascertain the most adequate level of medical cover for your needs. This tool is designed to evaluate a health care facility’s capacity to care for undifferentiated acute illness and emergencies. The tool is paper-based, and focuses on staffing, medications and equipment, staff medical education, and services available for care of patients with traumatic injuries and emergency conditions.

This document is a vital part of groups, organizations and business’ planning phase, before deployment to a remote location. The content of the assessment will be chosen by the assessment team and will depend on the available medical facilities in the area, work scope, the duration of their work and location.

Health and Wellness Programs.

Look after your employee’s health and wellness in the workplace and give your employees a productivity boost by looking after their wellbeing. Workplace wellbeing is becoming more and more relevant as businesses begin to understand the links between wellness, productivity, attraction and retention.

We give you everything you need to help support the health of your employees. Designing and managing an employee wellness program is an important step in improving the health and productivity of employees and potentially improving the overall cost of employer-provided health care.

These programs are aimed at providing resources to employees that encourage them to focus on their health and develop positive lifestyle habits. These programs aren't just good for employees, but they're good for companies as well.

Site Health Reviews.

The next phase in pre-deployment preparation is to understand the current availability and quality of care on the ground. Site Health Reviews are done in person and will include a visit to the area to investigate local health care facilities. This will be more detailed than the Medical Resource Assessment and will include environmental, social, logistical and security considerations.

The Site Health Review will give the client the exact breakdown of what can be expected on location and what mitigating factors, support and assistance is required to carry out their work safely.

Medical Emergency Response Plan.

In case of a medical emergency, one should not panic but follow a proper plan. This specific plan serves as a roadmap for all the actions taken while facing a medical emergency and is known as a Medical Emergency Response Plan (MERP).

The MERP addresses the immediate need for medical assistance in the event of traumatic injury or illness. It also assigns specific duties for effective evaluation, care, transportation or evacuation, as well as follow-up procedures in emergency situations.

Our custom formulated MERPs will enable your team to successfully plan for, and respond to, medical emergencies in any challenging locations.

Medical Facility Audits.

The purpose of auditing a medical facility is to provide insight into an organization’s capabilities, policies, procedures, and aids board and management oversight by verifying internal controls such as operating effectiveness, risk mitigation controls, and compliance with any relevant laws or regulations.

You can’t audit your own work without having a definite conflict of interest. Independent audits are important as they provide credibility, evaluate risks and protect assets. By providing an independent and unbiased view, the external audit function adds value to your organization.

Procedures and Policies.

While the terms are frequently mentioned together, policies and procedures serve different roles. Policies are high-level guidelines that define the culture of an organization by shaping decisions and providing a framework for daily activities. Procedures, on the other hand, enumerate lower-level processes and provide steps your employees need to take to adhere to your policies or complete a process. Together, they can guide an organization to success through legal and regulatory compliance.

Well-crafted policies and procedures can help your organization with compliance and provide a structure for meeting and overcoming challenges, both big and small. Creating policies and procedures, as well as process documents and work instructions, can take months of research and writing.
